We are Alex, Antonio, and our little boy Krisi – the family behind MeriBoo. Our story is personal, yet deeply connected to the experience and tradition of Antonio’s family, who have been producing high-quality merino wool garments for international brands since 2008.

For more than 15 years, the factory has worked with the finest merino wool and exports its production to countries such as Denmark, Germany, and the UK, where quality and safety standards are exceptionally high. Through these years of experience, our family has built deep knowledge and trust in a material that is not just a textile, but a true gift from nature.

Our products are certified according to three of the most important international standards:

• GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) – a guarantee that the wool used is produced sustainably, without toxic chemicals, and that the entire production process is gentle on both people and nature.
• Woolmark – one of the oldest and most prestigious certifications for merino wool worldwide. It proves that we use genuine, pure, high-quality merino wool that has passed rigorous testing.
• OEKO-TEX Standard 100 – a certification that guarantees every single component of the garment (from buttons to threads) is tested for harmful substances and is completely safe for baby’s skin.

These standards are not just “pieces of paper” – they are proof that what you dress your child in is clean, safe, and made according to the highest European requirements.

💛 Our personal story

I’m Alex, and I always vaguely knew that Antonio’s family “worked with merino,” but I never truly realized how special this material was… until I became pregnant with our son Krisi.

That’s when everything changed. I wanted to give him the very best – not just cute clothes, but fabrics that would protect him, provide comfort, and be gentle on his skin. That’s when I rediscovered merino – this time through a mother’s eyes.

I learned that merino is truly unique:

• it keeps baby warm on cold days, without overheating when it’s warm;
• it is soft and non-itchy;
• it is hypoallergenic and gentle even on the most sensitive skin;
• it does not retain odors and is easy to care for.

When I dress Krisi in merino, I know he is neither cold nor too warm. That gives me peace of mind, knowing he is protected and cared for.

🌄 Our factory in Gabrovo

Nestled in the heart of the Balkan Mountains, in Gabrovo, is the factory where MeriBoo garments come to life.

This is not an anonymous production hall. It is a place of calm, light, and rhythm, where every garment passes through human hands, eyes, and attention.

A team of experienced women works here, fully aware that they are not just sewing clothes – they are creating the very first layers that touch a baby’s skin.

🧵 How we work

Each garment goes through several careful stages:

• selection and inspection of certified merino wool – for softness, density, and consistency;
• precise cutting, adapted to the elasticity of merino;
• slow and accurate sewing, using seams suitable for baby skin;
• manual inspection of every single piece – removing loose threads and checking details;
• inspection of all components – labels, buttons, and finishing;
• final shaping and visual check before packaging.

Nothing is done on an assembly line. Every garment is made with care – the same care we would give if it were for our own child. Because we believe that quality does not tolerate haste – especially when it comes to children.
