When I found out I was going to become a mother, one of the questions I started asking myself most often was: “What should I dress my baby in?” The first clothes are something special – they are the first thing that touches the baby's delicate skin, and every mother wants them to be the best.
🚫 Substances to avoid
At first, I made the mistake of looking at all sorts of cute baby sets, but many of them turned out to be made of synthetics – polyester, acrylic, or fabrics that look soft but don't actually "breathe." They can get stuffy, retain moisture, and irritate sensitive baby skin. ❌
🌿 Why natural fabrics are the better choice
I soon realized that the most important thing is to wear clothes made of natural fabrics. They allow the skin to breathe, regulate temperature, and are far more gentle. Cotton is a common and good choice, but for me, merino wool turned out to be even more special – because it combines softness, warmth, and breathability all in one.
💛 My personal choice for Chrissy
When Chrissy was born, I wanted to give him the best. I chose merino wool clothes because I knew they would keep him at the optimal temperature – warm on cold nights, but not too hot when it’s warmer. I also like that merino is hypoallergenic and doesn’t cause irritation. That way I had peace of mind that his skin was protected and comfortable.
I believe that the first clothes are more than just clothing – they are the first gentle hug outside of mom and dad. So choose carefully, look for natural fabrics and think about the baby's comfort. For me, merino turned out to be the best choice, and that is how the idea for MeriBoo was born – to give every baby clothes in which they feel loved and protected.
